NEWS ARCHIVE -1999
5. Nov.. England.
London. We played London before but got sabotaged then by
the main bands sound guy. We supported some crappy german band
then and they had to pull the plug on us. Today though, we could
do our thing. It went great and we went to Stansted and flew home.....YES.
Thanks for reading and see you next time.....
4. Nov. Belgium.
This show was sucky. Paolo worked with a bare butt. Cummon, how
can Belgium offer anything after Italy? We didn't care...ran the
mill and got out......Have a nice life
3. Nov. Got
to Belgium and stayed in the city where we had to ply. Went
to watch a movie. It was o.k. but I'd rather play everyday. I
hate the days off. They are so incredibly boring....
2. Nov. Travel
day. Stayed up forever as we drove through the mountains in
Switzerland. What a view. Suck it in and go to bed. Unreal for
a dane whose country is as flat as Kate Moss' chest.
1. Nov. Treviso.
Uh Uh. Monday night and a fucking great show yesterday. I thought
it would be shit but it was great. Last show in southern europe
and you don't how cool it was until you're in Belgium.
31. Oct. Rimini.
This was probably the best show on the tour. 600 people went nuts.
Singalongs and fucking crowd backup vox for facelift. Goose bums.
KILLER show. Damn. ( Great Food Too.....)
30. Oct. Milan.
We thought we had to pull the show. The P.A. was not working,
the entire left side was blown out. All our plans this day was
canceled because we thought we where pulling it. Couldn't go to
A.C.Milans stadium or anything. Fuck. The food wasn't good and
we just waited. The deadline for the P.A. was 7 and the promoter
wanted the show to start at 6. They fixed it last minute and we
played anyway......Very good show, but the sound was crap. Too
bad when the people have paid and there is no way we can make
it how we like it. The P.A. was just shit.
29. Oct. Biella.
ITALY....I've been looking forward to this. We played here
before and it was great. Great Expectations and a great last week
of the tour. The show was naturally great. Italians like metal
and that's what they got.
28. Oct. Day
Off. Again we rushed only to sit in a parking lot for a day.
Fuck...
27. Oct. Bordeaux:
We did this before. The club isn't the greatest in the world,
but the crowd is ruling. It can't hold more than 200 people and
we had 250 in there. One of the smallest crowds on the tour, but
also one of the loudest. Bad: we had to go to McDonalds to take
our shits, because none felt to comfortable hitting those holes
in the floor the they have in France. I can see the cleanliness
goal of this concept, but what if you shit on your pants?? I only
had to do this once on this tour and it was when I had the stomach
flu and my watery shit sprayed the wall in 1.20 m height and ran
unpleasantly towards the little hole. I'm glad I'm not cleaning
toilets for a living and especially that gasstation toilet in
France I had to soil so badly.
26th Oct. Irun.
Weird show. Just weird.
25th Oct. Travel
Day. We drove for hours and then stopped in the holy city
of Salamanca. Bo, Paolo, Mike and I went to the city to wash our
stinking sewer outfits and get some food. Then some guy almost
ran me over and I broke his wingmirror. When we got back to the
bus there was 14 policemen there looking for me. I had to go to
the station and pay for the mirror. Other than that, this day
was pretty normal.
24th Oct. Lissabon:
12 hours on the road and we were in Portugal. This day was
very boring and after waiting forever we played and the show was
great.....To bad a guy had to get so hurt from stagediving...I
saw him in the air and then his nose was broken.....damn. We all
sat on the bus later and Lars Mayland felt that this was a very
boring day, seconds after he said that we were in the middle of
a flood. The drainage couldn't handle the water and we had to
get off the bus in ½meter of sewer water and save our gear
from the flood. The bus got water in the lower backlounge and
we had enough of Portugal.
23rd Oct: Madrid:
Woke up on the bus, and heard Barney have to answer stupid questions
and felt like kicking those punks off the bus. But went inside
and took a wet shit. The venue was great and the show later was
just great. Viva Espanã.....This is how metal shows should
be...........
22nd Barcelona.
This city is just great. We got up early and went to Nou Camp.
Sat there and sucked the vibe. F.C. Barca rules......The show
was KILLER. Why can't all shows be like this?
It fucking ruled..........
21st Perpignan.
Still sick as a dog. Went to a hotel to get rest. Slept for
14 hours and is feeling a little better......The show was really
great. Crowds in France are just better than Germany I guess.
20th Paris
got canceled. Traveled south to do a cover-up show in Perpignan.
19th Colmar.
Arrived the night before ??? had 16 hours to get-in. Why the
fuck did we have to leave Berlin to sit 16 hours on a fucking
parking lot without a toilet???....Great show, the crowd was 1000
times better than any german crowd.....great.
18th Travel
day. Caught a serious stomach flu. Can't eat, can't sleep,
can't do anything. FUCK.
17th Oct. Berlin:
What a day!!! Had a visitor from home and went to a hotel.
The rest is private.....( Our room was on 20th floor of the hotel.
What a view......) Bo had a fallout with the local crew. He ended
up doing some pissing(!!!) and moaning, destroyed a taxi, too.....
Left at 3:30 for France....
16th Oct. Leipzig:
I'm in Madrid writing this right now, and I can't remember anything
from Leipzig ?? I'll get back with some if it comes back ??
15th Oct. Stavenhagen:
Weird concept: they had a great stage with great p.a. but
wanted to use that for the the late night disco....so they had
a tent outside ( 5 degrees...are you NUTS???) that we had to play
in. Playing metal and freezing your ass off at the same time just
doesn't go together. Our backline guru Paolo kept our shit warm
with an oversize vacuum cleaner, and the set went o.k. Cold but
cool ??? Later the disco started and they had 10 people in there.
No serious point in renting that tent, huh, guys ??? Our soundman
Bo Lund voiced his opinion by pissing on the floor of the disco......
14th Oct. Bishofwerda.
What a fucking rathole outta hell. This place was just a stinking,
disgusting, repulsive pile of shit- they served us food that the
mice had theirs out of during the night. Couldn't do a serious
show because everything was just shit.....let's get the fuck out
of here.....
13. Oct. Braunschweig. Another
great show, damn. Great venue and great crowd. Those guys
fucking ruled....
12. Oct. Cologne, PrimeClub.
Met up with Metal Hammer U.K. and had a chat.....the show was
great. People loved it....
11. Oct. Cologne Day off.
Parked in the most remote part of town. did laundry and went to
the city. Went back and was bored. The guys got piss drunk and
went nuts. Could sleep at 8 in the morning...
10. Oct. Leer: Close to Holland,
so we went for a late night d*** run. No success but at least
we got McDonald. The place was cool and the show was o.k. People
live their lives ???
9. Oct. Magdeburg: O.K. Another
east german venture. But what a fucking great one. The stage was
huge and the venue was great. The food was edible and there was
plenty. After hanging out all day we rocked and the crowd was
great. This place was just excellent and everything was cool.
8th Oct.: Freiberg. The venue
was a forsamlingshus fra helvede. Beton uden ende. P.A. ankom
klokken 17.....Lort......lort.......lort........Hvorfor bor folk
her ??? Hvorfor flytter de ikke bare væk.........??????
7th Oct.: Erfurth. Good old
eastern Germany. Drove shitty roads all night and somehow we ended
up on a field in the middle of nowhere. We got out, got in and
set up......The monitor guy was absolutely not qualified, not
remotely qualified...can't speak, can't think and can't ( sure
as hell) work the fucking monitor....crap sound resulting.....but
o.k. gig.........lets get outta here.
6th Oct.: Day off in Munchen.
Gab. Woke up at 4 and went to the city. Found two old Motorhead
records and went back to the bus........and went back to sleep.....
5th Oct.: Munchen: This was
a very special day. Lars Schmidt got his new custom one of a kind
B.C. Rich bass today. I had set it up without him knowing anything
and sworked out the deal with Mr. Bernie Rico from B.C. and the
bass arrived as a special gift from Lars' girlfriend and it was
fucking cool. Damn it's a good-looking bass. He got it at sound
check and looked totally confused, he he...he thought it was someone
else's bass, and didn't quite get that it was his........
O.K. show, good crowd. Napalm's set was cut
in half by a serious accident, but they finished in cool fashion.
Tomorrow is a day off.....in Munchen...
4th Oct.: Stuttgart: An old
stinky bunker, with rat poison everywhere....Stinky, smelly, sucky.
Crap food, Lars asked the caterer if the food was maggots: he
replied: no no, it's pasta, spaghetti or something. I didn't eat.
Let's get the fuck outta here.......Skank ass...
3rd Oct.: Zurich: We crossed
the swiss border safely without having to lend some ass to a horny
border patrol. Woke up in Zurich and went out to try to find something.
Sunday and it seemed like everything was closed. Everything was
closed, and we tried to buy coffee at the main station, without
luck. The swiss are a secluded people, but Michael from GSA asked
the first old lady in sight where the red light district was.
Funny sight, because Michael was making himself understandable
by body language forming two huge hooters in the air in front
of this nice old lady. She was on to it, and we went that way.
Nothing there though, only a very expensive McDonalds......
Show was great...people rocked. The food was good/spicy,
and we got through it and cruised for Germany.....
2. Oct.: Lindau. Wake up,
after a long sleep.....good enough. Another great venue, cap.
800.....good presale over 500 people. Great show....we kicked
ass, and they loved it. Will be in Switzerland tomorrow and that's
supposedly good too. Feel's good that metal still rocks. Great
food. Deutshland über alles..........
1. Oct.: Krefeld.
First show in Germany. Compared to Holland this was heaven. Great
venue, great p.a. great monitor, great crowd, lot of 'em crazy
fuckers. The venue was a weapons factory under second world war,
and they still had some powder left. We dined out a.k.a. buy-outs
and Per and I went for chinese. They had all their local dishes
Including the all famous Nazi Göring ( Nasi Goreng...) and
Per asked if it was legal to sell a dish under that name. The
guy said something that i presumed was chinese and that was it.
We ate and left. Good food.........early curfew, bus left for
Lindau 9 hours away. The video ate the porn video.......FUCK it,
let's sleep
30. Sept.: Day Off in Amsterdam.
Everybody went bout their business, which in my case was getting
my stinky clothes washed and get some decent food. Settled for
a double Argentinean steak with nice pepper sauce and the seasons
green. Got me a Monte Christo for 22 guilders and felt my soul
wake back up. Cool. Bus left at 23:45, we got drunk and went to
sleep.
29. Sept.: Rotterdam. O.k.
time to fucking complain, what a shitty fucking club, shitty fucking
audience and no towels. Had to shower with a roll of toilet paper.
The food was crap, the place was worse than Ungdomshuset. For
a few minutes I thought I was in Hell. Let's get the fuck outta
Holland and deal with some other shit.........Let's Røvk
28th Sept.: Nijmegen. Same
shit different day. Same food, same backstage, same shit. Shit,
it's early to be complaining.....gotta see the positive side,
cum on. Hmmmm, well there was a grill down the road with o.k.
ribs and a pinball machine. We played well, and taped the show.
Damn, we rocked....Lars Mayland's got the fucking licks..........
27th Sept.: Groningen. Sold
out, totally weird on a monday. The Napalm is back.....but shitty
club, stinky, smelly and with bad P.A. Excellent crowd, with an
urge for metal. After having spent the day on the town (!!?) we
played our best show yet. Maybe a couple of the guys had fallen
in love with the transvestite behind the bar, and had something
to prove ?? Left early for Nimegen.
26th Sept.: Tilburg.
Very cool club. All new killer gear. Sounded great. We played
the Metal Matinee at 17:30. The earliest show yet. But nice food,
good crowd and excellent showers. Always a help, when when you're
a sad, smelly Lemmy wannabe. Why shower ? You'll be sweaty later
anyway...!!? Curfew 21:00, kedelig søndag.....Jean Claude
Van Damme er fandme lam. bøh...... Amish People......Allah
er stor. Satan være med jer ?
25th Sept.: Sneek.
Soccer madness !!!? We bought a ball for 25 Gylden. At first it
was just sitting on the floor by itself, but it caused serious
damage later. First, we set up, then sound checked, ate the first
of probably many pasta dinners (sucked...), waited for while,
played a good show in front of a sold out "dutch" audience, (
they moved less than yesterday, but still decent.... still decent).
got off, sat down, got drunk, and started playing some SOCCER:
Per was very adamant about shooting holes in the roof. Lars tried
a trick, but fell on his ass, and then i kicked the local support
in the stomach. ( W.D.Ball....) Wasn't too successful, it's safe
to say that we're more metal than footballers. More on that if
we learn howta play. ( we were all SO good when we where kids........)
Per closed the session with a full forced flugter that shot the
chairs behind the bar into rubbish and turned on the beer tap.
The club owner wasn't happy. But we all had a laugh, so that's
o.k.
24th Sept.:
Hengelo, Holland. First date on the tour, with the usual
stress getting set. After 12 hours of traveling, we arrived in
Hengelo. After a fast sound check and the first of probably many
rice dinners, we plugged in and got metal. This was defiantly
the most happening gig we ever played in Holland, ever. The crowd
was nuts, and we loved it. Crowds in Holland are usually kinda
slow, but these fuckers went off. Cool. But all things must come
to an end, and so did the first show out of 35 or so. A very good
beginning......
Sept 21st: Konkhra
will be on-line on their tour and can be reached through their email:
konkhra@konkhra.com
Watch these pages for an ongoing tour-report.
Sept. 20th: Konkhra
recieves killer reviews for their performance in Vega, opening
for Megadeth. Especially from danish national Newspaper Ekstra
Bladet, who had their student trainee do a review. Lars Schmidt
was compared to Hulk Hogan and Santa Claus in a poor attempt to
be funny. It's nationally known though, that this personal vendetta
from this excuse for a journalist is due to a very poor intellect
and a very severe attack of penis infection. Hey man, why don't
you just shut up, and get a life ???
The fact remains: noone can
reject the power of Konkhra live, and if you have the chance,
catch them on their tour with Napalm Death. They will kill you.
15th sept: All
is ready for the tour. Except a couple of shows in England, which
will be announced soon. Anders made some promo shots for B.C.Rich,
which will be up on the scandinavian importers website, and in
various press this fall. The band plans to report from the tour
on this page via e-mail to let everybody know what's cooking.
Remember: any questions for the band will be answered via
email: konkhra@konkhra.com
9th Sept.: Dates
added to the tour in Italy, France and Belgium. The final dates
in England will be ready in a weeks time.
| 8th Sept.: Anders
endorses B.C.Rich. After having lengthy discussions
with B.C.Rich, Anders and Mr. Bernie Rico decides on a guitar
for Konkhra's up-an-coming tour. It's a creamy Warlock,
one-of-a-kind custom shop with white neck and body bindings.
Kick Ass!
|

Per's return from the tour with The Haunted and Anders' return from

their expectations, as their return album: B.A.C.K. is gonna kick
serious ass.

release party,- 11th. of September. And don't forget: Konkhra opens

the bands history by this choice. Both Konkhra and James Murphy
agrees that this is for the better and part ways in best vibes.
James is very committed to Testament's world tour for their latest
release " The Gathering", and Konkhra felt like having a full-time
member on lead guitar. Reports from the rehearsal whisper that
this is without a doubt the strongest line-up Konkhra has ever
had. Lars is the type of guy who'll hang naked from the ceiling
and still blow minds on lead guitar.
July 6th: Anders
receives news on the B.C.Rich endorsement he was offered in May.
